Adjacent to this retail/office corner is a 35-acre high-end mixed-use development, which is home to Independent Bank, Grapevine Station Apartments, and several other prestigious businesses.
Currently Westwood is developing Grapevine Station North, another 11 acres of mixed-use development on Northwest Highway adjacent to the Gaylord Texan Resort.
ABOUT GRAPEVINE
Grapevine is the oldest settlement in Tarrant County. The city started under the Lone Star flag in 1844, a year before Texas became a part of the United States.
In October, 1844, General Sam Houston and fellow Republic of Texas Commissioners camped at Tah-Wah-Karro Creek, also known as Grape Vine Springs, to meet with leaders of 10 Indian nations. There they signed a treaty of “peace, friendship and commerce,” which opened the area for settlement by homesteaders. The settlement was named Grapevine because it was located on the Grape Vine Prairie near Grape Vine Springs, both of which were named for the wild Mustang grapes that blanketed the area.
Today, Grapevine’s beautifully restored Main Street District offers art galleries, restaurants, tea rooms, specialty shops, and tasting rooms for seven local wineries.
